Most of you would know across all the platforms, I produce, design, research, and distribute the content myself. A friend asked me, “What would I do differently if I had a team?” I’ve thought about this before but I replied, “Probably skills transfer at scale —meaning teach them how I design-research the visuals and get the team to specialize on data gaps across the continent: startups, tech, politics, music, and economy.

Give me context 👀! One of the leading newsletters on African data visuals produced 73 visuals in over 1 year, 4 months. Meaning 2 visuals a week. With Preamble, I have produced 157 visuals in 3 months. That means at least 13 visuals a week. Although this has led to Preamble exceeding some of my expectations. From today, I will be removing the tagline, “We send our subscribers 6 data visuals every Tuesday and Thursday” to focus on a updated approach.
