Based on property price to income ratio, Ghana has the most expensive rental property market in the city centre in Africa vs. the average country’s salary– the country has affordability index of 0.04%

African representation in the English Premier League

In 2021 there were 46 players in the English Premier League who were registered under an African nation

The largest e-commerce companies in Africa

Jumia raised $196 million in its IPO become one of the first few African tech companies to be listed in the U.S. New York Stock Exchange

Pay TV subscription in Africa

DSTV (Multichoice) has 10.2 million and StarTimes has 10 million pay TV customers

TikTok trends in South Africa

To find a way around TikTok platform policies the term β€œunalive” has been used as a synonym to β€œsuicide.” Searches for the term have increased in Google searches in South Africa in 8 years

I called this section Chappies Bubble gum Brief because as kids growing up in the township in South Africa, we used to buy the Chappies bubble gum brand which was wrapped in a paper that had β€œDid you know facts.” You can see an example in this link here. I used to buy as many of them, not to eat them but to read the unrelated facts.

I’ve been learning a lot about the difference between passport mobility which is segmented between Visa-free, Visa on Arrival, and Visa Required. Next Tuesday we will cover these differences in the Africa passport power rank.
